Hello friends and Merry Christmas! Ohhh how holly jolly and amazing this time of year is! I hope that everyone has had an amazing time during these festivities. In our home, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. ... and yes, Santa is also around for the kids. I think most of all what we celebrate is a new beginning. A beginning of dreams and hopes for the New Year.
In that note, I want to entice you to think and make a list of all the goals you want to accomplish in 2015. Think of it with love and care, close your eyes and meditate on this topic. Look deep in your soul, where do you see yourself? What makes you feel accomplished? What do you need to heal and let go? What is the dream that I have given up on?
Yes, ask yourselves that questions. I am asking myself those questions. Its a New Years resolution, its a change of mind, thought, spirit and heart. Its you building the foundation to what you want to be what you want to achieve.
I dare to go a little further, lets cleanse our bodies as well. Healthy minds, healthy bodies - very true!! Have you ever heard folks say that?? I have all the time and honestly, they are so right. I have challenged myself to do a juice cleanse starting January 1st. Yes, I know, totally cliche! Its my way of telling myself, my body - Darlene you need to reboot and start over.
I challenge you to take a similar approach. Whether it be a juice cleanse, feng shuing your home, your bedroom, getting the clutter out, adding fresh flowers to your vases at home... whatever it is. Challenge yourself to starting over, starting fresh, bringing positive thoughts, awakening dreams that have been in hibernation for way too long and breath -- simply live!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!
Namaste!

Woman of Character! Yes, you are!
Hello, hello everyone! I am so sorry for being MIA these
past few weeks. It has been truly a crazy kind of town over here. I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving Holiday! :)
Ladies, today I am speaking with you. Yes, you gorgeous
creature of light and wisdom. You mother of one or a few or none, or soon to
be. Today is your day! I got myself to thinking that we women have put
ourselves to living in a society that is quite critical of the way we think,
act, say and are. If we have a bad day and let it out we get the “OHHHH she’s
PMS’ing!” or “Ohhh here comes the crazy train and the b**tch is riding it.”
Yes, I’ve heard that one, people do say such things.
You know what, we have every right to be emotional, to have
feelings and thoughts about a particular situation or various situations. When
a man punches a wall because he is upset or swears up and down because his
favorite team lost the championship – no one looks at him and says he is
PMS’ing. Am I right?!?!
So here it goes, we are living, breathing creatures that not
only think with our minds, but also with our heart. Women are creatures of many
emotions and capable of loving without measure. We bring live to this earth and
nurture it everyday. YOU are magnificent, you are incredible and therefore, deserve
to be respected and treated as a goddess. Too many times we allow society to
rule over us, our feelings, our thinking and we don’t live our lives.
So I tell you today, live your life to the fullest. Do
something today that makes you happy, that makes you smile, that makes you feel
sexy – do it for you. Don’t do it for your husband, your boyfriend, your
partner, the neighbor… Do it for you! Feel completed and happy all on your own.
Be kind to yourself, be understanding to yourself and let go of the labels that
society puts on you. Remember that you are beautiful just as you are. Yes, look
at yourself in the mirror and love what you see. Don’t judge your looks, don’t
be cruel to yourself – you are BEAUTIFUL!

Faith Walking
Hello Everyone!
Happy Sunday and I hope you've all adjusted your clocks depending on what part of the country you live. :)
Sundays are always great for me, it's the time of the week that my little man and I go to church and he says "To thank God for all he has done for us". He is right! We have so much to thank GOD for, the simple fact that we are up and running this morning is a reason to be thankful. Everyone morning, I spend some time in prayer and meditating on a word.
Today this was the verse I meditated on:
Walking by faith is not easy sometimes. Life's troubles will see to it that it can be a challenge for us to walk by faith. The Bible says that we walk not by sight, but by faith. If you really pay attention to that scripture you realize that it is telling us that we can NOT look at our circumstances and listen to the negativity that is being spoken around us. As human beings, our mind, our intellectual, our reasoning will always show us the facts or what we think are the facts and our circumstances. We will realize that maybe we don't have a job, the money is running out, the sickness is too much to handle, the hurt and the pain is unberable. GOD says something very different... He is telling us to look towards heaven just as it says in Psalm 121:
Today, I don't know what your circumstances are, but I urge you to look up to the heavens, to call out on the Lord's name and I assure you -- He will answer you! Don't look at your surroundings, what people are saying about you, or what your mind is telling you. Live by faith, seeking the goal which is to be in God and he will be there for you.
I hope this has inspired you today! Have an amazingly blessed day. :)

Do you really get married with the familia too??
Hi everyone! I hope you had a fantastic Halloween and are having a blast eating all the candy. (come on, we know you eat the candy too! LOL)
(I just thought the below was a little rebellious and funny! LOL I don't think it's true in EVERY case.)

This entire week I have been thinking of this topic. "Marriage and the extended Familia". Do we really get married with the entire clan? Can we escape the fact that we have crazy in-laws? Or they're so nice you just want to spend all your time with them (this is rare, lets be honest!)
Yes, it is true. Unfortunately for some, myself included... You are married to the family as well. I have been married twice and it's not something that I am ashamed of. I am glad to share my experiences with everyone. My first marriage was very hard, because culturally we did not see eye to eye and I had no support from the person I was married to. My second marriage, I had an absolutely amazing father-in-law and amazing sisters and brother in-law. During my divorce, I think it hurt me more to know that I would have to stay away from them then the actual divorce. After having had both experiences and analyzing the situations, I must say that marriage and the "Familia" are not easy to juggle. Yes, you have to be friendly, calm and polite, but I am one that believes that you shouldn't suffer silently. The more you keep inside, the more hurt you will feel and things will only get worse. Obviously, having a supportive spouse is a major + in all this.
This may sound corny, but getting a therapist involved in order to iron out the issues between you and your partner is a good idea. Many times, its a good idea to get the family involved too. This kind of experience will allow you and your loved ones to be able to share in a neutral environment so that everyone has a chance to speak their mind.
Marriage is not an easy road and you need all the support, patience and Godly help you can get. Even in the best of partnerships there will be bumps in the road, but its part of life and if we take it as a growing experience the better off we are. However, DO NOT allow yourself to be spoken down to, abused in any way. If that is happening, GET OUT! I always say that God allows the storms so that we can recognize the choices we've made, to learn from them and to grow. Without a little storm we become accommodated in our own crazy situations and don't allow change to do it's thing.
I hope this helped! Please feel free to share your views.

Forgiveness?? Who said that?!
Is this a trick word or what?! Forgiveness... Yes! it can be. I wanted to chat about this subject today because in my life I have been through many bumps in the road and until recently, I finally understood. Forgiveness is something that if we don't understand it and we don't give it, even our health can be affected. I can attest to that! Living without forgiveness, whether it is forgiving someone who has hurt you or forgiving yourself. Either way, forgiveness is important so that you can live a healthy life - physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
It doesn't matter if the person forgave you or isn't speaking with you or if you haven't forgotten what has happened. Just release the forgiveness, receive it and give it to yourself. Leave the pain, the blame aside and eventually you will remember the incident, but not the feeling, not the hurt - that's forgiveness. It's hard, it's not easy - I won't lie, but it is well worth it. Make the choice to be happy in spite of any circumstances, smile at life and it will smile back at you!
Give it a try today! I hope this inspired you.
xoxo
