Being the best mom...

Hello everyone! I hope you've all had an amazing day. The weather is changing for the best and the birds are singing... can't ask for more than that.

Today I was sitting down next to my son having breakfast and he looked at me and said " Mom, you are the best mom ever!". That made me feel so complete and the universe was 1 with me. Yes, it sounds like too much, but that was the feeling. I got to thinking... I am a working mom, I am always rusing through life, but I take time to spend with my son. It isn't how many toys we buy for them, or how many fancy and expensive vacations we take together. It is simply that morning coffee and conversation we have. The time, the hugs, the kisses, the "I love yous"... that is what makes you the best mom ever. Those moments will forever be rememberbered by our children and by us as well. Keep them alive, keep it going and share the love! You're little ones think you ROCK and I do too!

Don't be anxious

I hope you're having a great night and enjoying life! I wanted to share a thought on a subject that I personally have and still deal with:

"Anxiety"

Anxiety is something that can take your sleep  away or be as serious as to affect your health. I have suffered from anxiety, panic attacks and let me tell you, it is not pretty. This world and the rush of everyday can cause of us to to be anxious about tomorrow. We worry about our children, our families, our jobs and so much more. Life and its circumstances can take the best of us and we should not allow it. I have come to a conclusion that being anxious will not change my circumstances, it will not change the the things that are out of our control.

I have come to admit that GOD in his awesomeness has left his word to guide us and help us through every situation in our lives including anxiety. We need to trust that He will provide for all our needs, he will give us strength to endure the circumstances that may arise - no matter how hard these times may be. Trust in Him and He will come through! I want to leave you with the below verses from the book of Matthew, Chapter 6: 25 - 34

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I hope these verses inspire you today!

Cleanse - Review...

Hello everyone!

Happy start to a new week, new year, new everything! I wanted to give you an update on my cleanse. It turns out that it wasn't an easy task. I was unable to do all 3 days - had to stop at the end of the 2nd day. My body gave out signs of not being very happy with the cleanse. I must say it was worth the try.

This is why I previously wrote that you need to contact your physician and be in tuned with your body and listen to its messages. Cleansing is not for everyone and it wasn't for me this time. :( You are probably asking - "what did she gain in 2 days?" Well, let me tell you... I gained a healthy mindset, restful weekend and a new attitude for the new year.

I hope you have an amazing and blessed day!

Day 1 Juice Cleanse - Done and Done!

Hello my lovelies!

Yes, first day of juice cleanse is almost complete. Okay, I will be absolutely honest, this was not as easy as I thought it would be. I did have an apple and some salad as my cheat foods when I felt like I was going to die if I didn't eat something solid.

I still feel good and optimistic for tomorrow! My review of the juices, not bad at all. The green juice with kale, spinach, etc., was good and very green or as my son called it "Hulk Juice". Just in case you're wondering... No, I did not turn into Hulk! :)

The "Red" juice, was surprisingly tasty and sweet. You can taste the ginger, beets and carrots; not a bad combination at all. Now the one I did have a hard time with was the Lemonade with cayenne pepper. Oh holy tomatoes... that cayenne pepper is tough to swallow, but nothing this mama couldn't handle.

Now I'm on to my last juice of the day - I'm hoping it's quite tasty as it sounds amazing. It is cashew milk, Madagascar vanilla (soooo fancy), nutmeg, cinnamon, dates and raw agave. Below is a picture for your admiration and wonder.

All in all, not a horrible juice cleanse day. Day 2 here I come!

Have a good night and namaste on!

Happy New Year!

Hello! Happy New Year to everyone. I hope that your holiday has been amazing!

As I shared a few days ago, I am officially starting my juice cleanse today. Many of my friends told me that I timed it a little off... :) which in some way I do agree, but I wanted to start 2015 renewed, revived and regenerated in every way, from the inside out.

I will keep you posted on how this juice cleanse process goes. The morning juice, which consists of green and more green is actually pretty good. I can taste the ginger quite intensely, adding a little spice and kick to the juice. I'm hoping all other juices are just as interesting!

I want to leave you with a thought today, a verse I meditated on this morning: Isaiah 53:3. Jesus, being God and King - had to go through many trials and tribulations, just like we go through today. He didn't allow any of it to bring him down, to stop him from fulfilling what GOD had established for him and for us. In this new year, let us remember that circumstances can't abolish, stop the plans that GOD has for our lives. Don't let your dreams become frustrated due to a word that was spoken that hurt you, or a rejection from someone you love that makes you feel left out - keep your head up, your hopes high and keep moving forward.

Happy New Year!
Namaste!

3 day Juice Detox for the New Year!

Hi everyone! I mentioned that I am doing a Juice Cleanse starting on Jan. 1st. I wanted to give details on which one I'm doing.

I got a great deal on groupon.com for a Pelled 3 Day Juice Cleanse. Feel free to check it out!

https://www.groupon.com/deals/peeled-inc-3

I have friends who have done and they loved it. I am trusting their judgement. You can also juice on your own. I do suggest a few items to keep in mind before doing a cleanse of any kind:

1. Make sure to consult your doctor prior to doing a cleanse. Ask for a full blood work to see how your body is doing and don't forget to mention the fact that you're thinking of doing a cleanse.

2. Foods and habits to avoid 2 to 3 days prior to starting your juice cleanse.

AVOID
-Animal products (red meat, fish, chicken, eggs)
-Processed sugar, high fructose corn syrup
-Artificial sweeteners
-Processed foods (such as pasta, bread, soy products, pre-packaged salads, soups and dressing)
-Coffee and black tea (suggestion: switch to caffeinated green tea at least a week before juice detox and stop drinking caffeinated green tea all together at least two days before juice detox)
-Alcohol
-Soda
-Dairy
-Eggs
-Refined flour
-Raw fish
-Fried foods
-Over salting your food (no table salt)
-Overeating
-Eating poorly combined foods when you know they stress your system (fruit with protein or starch with grains, for example)
-Eating before bed
-Dehydration
-Stress, lack of sleep, sedentary lifestyle, people who drain your energy (as much as possible) (from http://myapapaya.com/before-during-after-cleansing/)

4. Go organic!!! I can't remind you enough about going the organic route.

5. Be gentle with your body and listen to it's signs. If you start to feel absurdly week or uncomfortable during your juice cleanse - MAKE SURE TO STOP! Please contact your physician.

6. Take it easy! No exercising or extenuating yourself in any way. Remember your body is going through a cleanse and is taking every bit of energy to do son. Rest up! I suggest doing a little restorative yoga, if you want to move a little, relax and stretch.

5. Have fun with it and enjoy the new you once it's all done!

If you decide to do this, again, please consult your physician prior to starting your cleanse. I can not stress that enough.

Have cleansing!
Namaste!
